Sponsorship of an association formed to support the visually impaired

In December 2008, TechniData IT-Service sponsored the 'Verein zur Förderung Sehbehinderter e.v.' – an association formed to support the visually impaired. TechniData has therefore joined forces with other sponsors to help provide a vehicle for children and young people.

In the German state of Baden-Württemberg, there are only 10 schools equipped to deal with the special needs of the visually impaired.

Large distances, complicated travel links and long journey times make it difficult for many visually impaired students to get from home to school every day. Without a pick-up service, it would not be possible for many children and young people to benefit from the facilities offered by the schools.

The objective of the association is to help visually impaired students to become fully integrated into society and to give them every chance of forging a successful career. Dedicated sponsorship and support smoothes this way to independence.
